R.I.P A.C.C.

"How romantic, if even now, we can hear the dying voice of a star, which heralded the Christian era."

If you have ever seen/read 2001: A Space Odyssey, or I don't know, use a cell phone you should know who Arthur C. Clarke is.
This man went so hard that I can't even believe he passed away. I remember being 13 at a Steak and Shake with my brother and father promising them Sir Arthur (THATS RIGHT, DUDE WAS KNIGHTED) would never, ever go. Sadly though he did, in his adopted homeland of Sri Lanka, 90 years old on March 19th.

Sir Arthur was an accomplished author writing more then 100 books and short stories. Two of them being "The Nine Billion Names Of God" and "Childhood's End" both noted for their evolutionary themes, the bittersweet belief in mankind, and making me cry like a little girl. Even though, I will admit "Childhood's End" did get a little crazy with the science fiction, but I fully understand it had to be done as not to compromise the premise of the story and should be noticed as an afterthought to the symbolism in the book that was meant to get across.

AND he was one of the first to come up with the idea that geostationary satellites would be superb for telecommunication relays. All though there has been discussion that this was all ready in the ears of inventors and would have happened with out Sir Arthur. I don't give a fuck. He said something about it first, Arthur C. Clarke wins.
AND he saved lowland gorillas in Central Africa.

Arthur C. Clark, you amazing man you, will be missed desperately.

"I have a fantasy where Ted Turner is elected President but refuses because he doesn't want to give up power."
